A Gentle Reminder: Immerse Yourself In Nature
Immerse yourself in nature
Nothing compares to the beauty of nature. With all our human intelligence and advanced technology, we haven’t been able to truly replicate its beauty or the colours of nature——from the muted palette of an Australian landscape in autumn to the vibrancy of a rainbow after a shower.
Nature gives us the opportunity to escape from the 24/7 world of stimulation, from the endless streaming of information and hype. The human brain is a wonderful thing, but it needs time to rest and rejuvenate, just like tired and sore muscles.
Whenever you need a check and balance, nature never fails to provide and inspire. Wildlife and the outdoors are essential for our wellbeing. Use the natural world as your all-nature remedy to feel calmer and less stressed.
Get your daily dose
Try to aim to get a dose of nature every day, no matter how time poor you may be or feel. Often, it’s when we’re feeling overwhelmed that we need a nature fix the most.
It can be as simple as heading to the beach after a stressful day at the office. There’s nothing like walking on squeaky white sand and gazing across the ocean to give our brains and our senses a rest from overstimulation.
Or take your yoga routine outdoors. Head to your nearest park first thing in the morning and practise your routine mindfully while enjoying looking at a canopy of trees or a clear blue sky. If you’re a newbie to yoga, you’ll find our free yoga routines helpful.
Walk outdoors and take notice of your surroundings—what’s growing in people’s gardens, the many different variants of green, what plants are in flower, the hum of bees. You’ll be surprised to find a thriving ecosystem in your own community.
Nature is everywhere; we sometimes need a gentle reminder to notice it.
